The Golden Key to Reducing Hair Fall

ree

There are many ingredients in our gardens and kitchens that we use to treat skincare issues and hair care issues at home. When it comes to hair though, we may not know much ingredients apart from certain oils. But we remember rosemary as the fragrant herb that’s a staple in many European dishes. Did you know this energising plant is amazing for boosting hair growth? Its ability to leave the scalp clean, balanced, and stimulated is a bounty that many would desire.

Researchers have claimed rosemary’s benefit comparable to that of minoxidil (a chemical ingredient that is well known to support hair growth). BUT without the negative side effects, such as itching or sensitive scalp! How cool is that? One study in 2014 concluded that rosemary works just as well as minoxidil (known as Rogaine), the go-to drug for tackling pattern baldness. After three months of testers using either rosemary or Rogaine, there was barely any increase in hair growth, but by six months both had significant increases – with rosemary taking a very slight lead.

To complement rosemary oils, such as Skinsuq's Rosemary Complex, you can incorporate rosemary rinse into your hair wash routine! Combine 5 sprigs of rosemary and 2 cups of water into a saucepan and bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the burner to a simmer and cover the pan to no evaporated oils are lost. Let it simmer for about five minutes before removing from heat entirely to let the water cool. Do not remove the cover! Once you have your rosemary water (or apple cider vinegar, whichever method you decided to use), strain out the herbs and put your spoils into a squeeze bottle and use it as a post-wash rinse!
